Next in our series of interviews with our Definia associates, Tim Wood talks to us about his current role as a Portfolio, Program and Change Consultant at Mars Incorporated.
What is your current role and at what company?
Portfolio, Program and Change Consultant with Mars Inc.
What does this entail?
I have been working with Mars across many Enterprise Initiatives for a few years. From leading the PMO for a major Functional Transformation, Set-up and Strategy for a new Function (Strategic Capabilities) to establishing Portfolio maturity in-line with Mars Strategy for the P&O function.
This year [2023] I have been focused on supporting the establishment of an Enterprise People Strategy for Mars Inc., creating the business case and ensuring we have the structure and resources to deliver on the ambition over the next few years. Alongside this, I am also part of key supporting programs within the People Strategy and continuing the journey on portfolio maturity for the P&O function.
How do you work closely with the Definia team?
I have been working with Definia since 2021 and particularly closely with Kieren Stevens who has been excellent at supporting me and Mars. Over the years there have been conversations for new opportunities at Mars that have come to fruition, and it’s been great to work with all the great Definia Consultants.
How did you initially enter the ecosystem?
I initially helped Definia to establish at Mars in 2021 and continue to support with opening opportunities and related work that Definia can excel Mars with, such as change capability.
How do you stay in touch with the team?
In my time as a Definia Associate I have enjoyed the regular team catch-ups and events that Definia put on to maintain a community. This allows us all to share best-practices and build long-standing relationships.
