Define
A global leader in airport services identified an opportunity to strengthen its competitive position by streamlining business-critical processes through better use of technology. But meaningful transformation doesn’t happen overnight — it needed an experienced partner to help deliver it.
The business engaged Definia to enhance its Flight Services Capture (FCS) platform with the development of a new mobile application. The goal was to enable staff to log vital service information more effectively, improving real-time data capture, enhancing the user experience and unlocking additional revenue opportunities.
Design
We were tasked with delivering a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for the mobile application, including high-level UX/UI and technology design. Over the course of three sprints across seven weeks, our team of technical experts conducted site visits and ran in-person workshops with intended app users across key locations.
During this phase, the team:
- Carried out technical discovery and reviewed the current system and relevant APIs
- Defined key user personas and began UX/UI design
- Documented all required solution features and validated the FSC design objectives
- Completed the UX/UI design and full-stack technology architecture.
- Developed a project plan, change management approach and identified next steps.
Deliver
Within seven weeks, Definia had built a full demo application. This allowed users to experience the app’s look and feel, providing valuable, actionable feedback to refine the technology requirements.
Final outputs included:
- UX/UI designs and user flows through the mobile application
- Recommended technology stack and how it would work
- Technology requirements
- Implementation roadmap
Our support on this project enabled the client to accelerate application development, engaging an offshore delivery partner to build the application using our proposed designs and project plan.
Following the success of this partnership, Definia was re-engaged to conduct a health check on a live rostering tool, supporting the client’s plans to productise and scale the solution globally.
